Trailwork on Creekside Connector July 29 – August1

Most likely on Tuesday July 29 the swamp mats that have served as a bridge spanning a narrow but deep (5′?) drainage in the upper half of the Creekside Connector trail (below the Tomasi Trailhead and the ATV trail) will be removed. We hope to have the permanent replacement span in place before the weekend if we can turn out a good assembly crew.

Motivated hikers could still climb in and out of the drainage to cross but bikers heading toward Swedetown Creek from the Tomasi trailhead should cross Tomasi Road and continue down to the Pedestrian Bridge via the Pine Loop to get to the west side of Swedetown Creek for the next few days. Sorry for the inconvenience during the short construction. Please DO NOT utilize Tomasi Road as a work around.

If you can volunteer some hours in the next couple of days to get the bridge completed keep your eyes open for a notification here or via the Keweenaw Trails listserver.
