New Trail, New Boardwalk, New Bridge

Volunteers have been hard at work the past couple of months building a new bridge and boardwalk on a new trail. Well, an old trail that went unused, but has been renovated.

The goal is to replace Tomasi Road as the primary way to access the northern reaches of Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids. The trail (its old name is Trail 17) starts near the intersection of the Tomasi Trail and the snowmobile trail, and ends close to the current intersection of Tomasi Road and the Upper Creekside trail.

The project was supported by a $17,000 grant from Visit Keweenaw, with the balance from club funds.
