Glide ‘N Gorge Tickets On Sale

UPDATE: ON FEBRUARY 20 THE HTC BOARD OF DIRECTORS CANCELLED THE 2024 GLIDE ‘N GORGE DUE TO ANTICIPATED DETERIORATION OF TRAIL CONDITIONS WITH EXTENDED ABOVE FREEZING TEMPERATURES.

As excited as the Hancock Trails Club has been to show off the rebuilt Creekside trail and host the first GNG along the length of Swedetown Creek in six years the Board was not confident the event could be safely held to protect skiers and the trail surface itself with little in the way of fresh snow or freezing temperatures through March 2nd to improve an already very thin base. Please make plans to attend next year and purchase your club annual membership now if you have not already to support the trail system in a challenging year.

As an early breakup season approaches please assess trail conditions carefully and refrain from hiking or biking on soft and muddy trail surfaces.  We anticipate the Gorge trails will remain soft and fragile for some time after the snow melts as they continue to stabilize from last summer’s construction activity.

The annual Glide ‘N Gorge event is coming up on March 2nd and tickets can now be purchased on on-line. They should be available from HTC board members, Down Wind Sports or Cross Country sports starting February 20. It has been tough winter on the trails as we all know so don’t let this bright spot pass you by. This year’s GNG will feature the first route down the entirety of Swedetown Gorge in six years! Not to mention the food! To purchase tickets use the Donate button on our GNG events page.
